The Making Of
Tight production schedules calls for innovative solutions.
Pre-production – the very core of the project – had to be done in a matter of days. In order to manage expectations and lay the ground for the whole production we took a shortcut and developed an animatic using existing footage of birds wherever we could source them out. Documentaries, animations, movies, you name it. (see video below)
As for the final look, we wanted to go for a painterly feel and therefore found quick ways to merge CGI techniques and digital painting to achieve this look.
