Yasmine Ghorayeb

We’ve collaborated with director Yasmine Ghorayeb to bring to life two sequences of her latest documentary “Ahla w sahla” (Welcome). The documentary goes through the life of Yasmine’s grandmother Wadad and how her strength and love kept her family united. The first sequence is Wadad’s dream of her husband Joseph and the second is Joseph’s death.

The first scene being a dream, we opted for warm almost sunset like colors with a surreal time span. The scene starts at night but notice as they open the door to the garden it’s daylight with a very warm color. Wadad asks her husband if this is heaven before he disappears.

On the other hand, the second scene has much more greens and blues taking the viewer into a grimmer and darker reality. The final moment of Wadad’s husband Joseph.
